INTEGRATING DIFFERENT TREATMENTS CAN
HELP ACCESS AND ADDRESS DEEP ISSUES,
PROVIDING THERE IS WILLINGNESS TO CHANGE…
REMEMBER, CHANGES ARE GRADUAL.

SERVICES

At WellMind Excel you can consider Hypnotherapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Time Line Therapy (TLT) individually, or in combination as part of a holistic approach, to address any issues that you might have. Some issues are best addressed by one particular method, while others benefit by a combination approach, because everyone is different.

Integrating different treatments can help access and address deep issues, providing there is willingness
to change… remember, changes are gradual.

In addition, it’s important to know that complementary therapies are an adjunct, and not a substitute
for medical treatment, or medication prescribed by your doctor.

Hypnotherapy along with other treatment modalities can help with a wide variety of problems,
symptoms and performance improvements.

The following is by no means an exhaustive list:

What happens at the assessment appointment?

Everyone is unique and so it’s important for the therapist to meet you. Once you decide to go ahead with treatment, you’ll have a detailed consultation (generally lasting between one and a half/two hours), in order to cover in detail all aspects of your care such as:

• A discussion about requirements and goals for treatment, and the structure of sessions.

• Gathering further personal information, such as lifestyle/habitual patterns (eating, sleeping, smoking, etc.), any medical symptoms/medication, any issues involving other health providers, etc. There will be some paperwork to complete.

• Explanations about how hypnotherapy and other
treatments work.

• Covering practical details such as cost, cancellation policy, number of sessions, etc.

• After assessment, we proceed with a short relaxation session, so you can experience trance. If we start with other treatment modalities, we introduce EFT tapping, or continue with further questions for NLP/TLT. Afterwards, we have a short chat, so you can ask questions.

• For online sessions, there is a phone assessment and the paperwork is emailed to you. Once it’s returned and you agree to proceed, the sessions are delivered online via zoom.

Once you are ready and feel relaxed, we start therapy/change work, by using the techniques and approaches discussed and agreed beforehand; to help you achieve your goals. After the session, if hypnotherapy is employed, the therapist will begin the transition from trance, to full awareness. Finally, the session is closed, and you have a chance to talk about it if you feel necessary.

After the session, if hypnotherapy is employed, the therapist will begin the transition from trance, to full awareness. At the end of sessions, we usually let the therapy take its course.

Here are some of the most common issues people inquire about,
and seek assistance for:

Sometimes people fail to notice symptoms of anxiety, or the effects that a stressful situation is having on their wellbeing. If you have difficulty concentrating, often feel irritable and fatigued, then there may be an emotional imbalance present, causing these symptoms.

A lot of the time people ‘bounce back’ naturally, but when this doesn’t happen, chronic stress may result in panic disorder or a generalised anxiety. Complementary therapies can make a difference in being able to deal with anxiety and stress-related symptoms in a more focussed way compared to traditional counselling.

The main difference being that hypnosis helps you address the subconscious root of the problem, which sometimes years of conscious psychotherapy cannot.

With smoking restrictions in public places, there is more interest than ever before in effective methods of smoking cessation. Many people report that using patches and attending non-smoking clinics is useful up to a point, but that they are still struggling.

Therapy can help with the subconscious thinking, the part of the mind that controls habits, but like most addictions you do have to be consciously determined to stop. With hypnosis you can help your subconscious mind address this old habit, focus on good health, more energy and fitness, and of course saving money.

We all need to eat, but some may feel out of control and fed up feeling overweight and unable to wear clothes they’d like to. These feelings can affect your self-esteem and make you feel depressed, or out of sorts. There are many dietary problems which therapy can help address such as overeating, and eating fads such as refusing to eat vegetables, etc.

Suggestion hypnotherapy can often help to bring about changes, and using analytical hypnosis helps to identify the real source of the problem. Again, there has to be a real decision to change and it’s worthwhile considering therapy as part of an overall regime of proper diet, and at least moderate exercise. Remember, diets are based on the feeling of deprivation and sacrifice, so once you finish a diet and return to previous eating patterns, the weight goes back on!

Hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis can be used to reduce chronic pain, and often decrease the need for constant medication intake. Clients can learn some methods of self-hypnosis, so that they can help themselves. There are many forms of chronic pain i.e. headaches, back pain, nerve pain…but remember you must always see your doctor first.

Stress and Phobias

Covers the use of therapy for addressing stress
and extreme fear of, or aversion to something.

Pain Management

Helps with chronic pain, but please, consult your doctor before making an appointment with us.

Hypno-Health

For positivity before surgery and investigations, quicker recovery/healing after procedures, and coping better with side effects from medication.

Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy

For support with different medical and
dental issues/conditions, etc.

The application of Clinical Hypnotherapy in Dentistry is well recognised as an adjunct to patient care:

• Addressing patients’ anxiety related to anticipated pain or discomfort

• Helps patients’ ability to feel comfortable and relaxed during a longer session of dental work

• Reducing fears i.e. of dental procedures, needles, ‘drills’ and smells

• Accustoming the patient to better tolerate orthodontic ‘braces’ and ‘dentures’

• Teach ‘glove’ anaesthesia for self-help

• Facilitate control of excessive saliva

• Reduction of gagging, chocking and nausea issues

• Support with improving poor oral hygiene

• Reduction of habits such as bruxism (grinding of teeth), nail biting, etc. And let’s not forget… the dental practitioner’s stress and anxieties.

This varies, as it is client-specific and many factors are taken into consideration, including client responsiveness to the initial treatment and the nature/depth of the specific issue.

For some this is achieved in 3 to 6 sessions, and for others additional sessions might be needed to get to the root of the problem, because change occurs in its own time, and differs for each person.

Furthermore, some clients who have overcome an issue successfully, may decide to return and work on another aspect of their life.

At WellMind Excel we offer a free 15 minutes informal chat on the phone, so we can ask questions before you come in.

Also, you may choose to have a ‘no obligation’, face to face 30 minutes introductory session to see if therapy is something you might want to pursue (there is a nominal charge for this).

The hourly rate for coaching/therapy sessions varies depending on treatment; and for multiple sessions there are saving plans, which will be discussed with you at the assessment appointment.

Success is not guaranteed and full client commitment is important, i.e. a genuine willingness to change, following instructions, completing homework tasks assigned, keeping all appointments and applying self-help. Remember, for success full client participation is required, because all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, and any change is client initiated and driven.
